Huddersfield have confirmed Derby County assistant Stan Ternent as their new manager on a three-year deal.
The former Burnley and Gillingham manager, who replaces Andy Ritchie, will be assisted by former Terriers player Ronnie Jepson.
Chairman Ken Davy told Town's website: "Stan is very experienced. His pedigree at this level speaks for itself.
"For our centenary we were determined to appoint someone with a successful record in the third tier."
Ternent's replacement at Derby is thought to be Chris Hutchings.
Hutchings has been out of work since being sacked by Wigan earlier this season, and has worked with Rams boss Paul Jewell at Bradford and the Latics.

Derby chairman of football Adam Pearson said: "We already have a new assistant lined up and ready to start work on Friday.
"I am very excited about the future of the coaching staff moving forward as is Paul Jewell. The new assistant has a proven pedigree and a top class record and is someone well known to Paul."
