St Mirren sign Spanish midfielder

St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson has signed Spanish trialist Antonio Guerao Mayoral Tonet.

The midfielder has spent pre-season with the Paisley side and has agreed a one-year deal.

A former Barcelona youth player, the 29-year-old and has also had spells with AD Alcorcon and CF Fuenlabrada.

"He is a left sided player who is more than decent in the air so I'm sure he will be a good addition to the squad," MacPherson told the club website.

Tonet joins fellow new signings Dennis Wyness, Tom Brighton, Jack Ross and Steven Robb and MacPherson is keen to add one more player to his squad before the transfer deadline.

"I reckon we probably need to bring another player in so we are still looking to add to our squad," he added.

"I don't think we will add to the squad before our game against Celtic but you never know and 31 August is still a bit away yet."
