Denilson – The world’s most expense player when he signed for Real Betis, eventually left on a free, where Celtic turned him down!
Freddy Adu?? – Only time will tell, though unless the MLS improves, or he leaves for a bigger club, we may never know.
Nii Lamptey – A superb teenager for Anderlecht in Belgium, being the youngest every player in the league. Sadly it was Anderlecht that proved to be his carear highlight, after signing for Big Ron’s Aston Villa, where he was labelled “the next pele”. He then followed Ron to Coventry, which was the start of a number of unsuccessful spells at a number of clubs.
He is now playing in South Africa
Tevez – With the most bizarre agent (who does own him??), time will tell, but can it be any harder to live up to the hype?

The Next Pele??
Ever since Pele graced the football pitch, any every increasing number of plays have been rated as the “next Pele”, or the “Pele of Africa…”. Have you noticed how so many of these players have never quite lived up to this hype?? Below is a random list of players which havn’t lived up to their “Pele” label
